Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Ever felt that your negative emotions and feelings are controlling you? Find a sense of calm and clarity with this simple grounding technique.
What is Emotional Freedom Technique?
You may have heard of Emotional Freedom Technique by its other common name, tapping, or EFT for short. It’s a grounding technique that can have really powerful effects, reducing anxiety, calming your mind, and lessening unwanted impulses.
EFT involves tapping acupressure points around the body while repeating affirmations. The physical act can help bring you to a much more relaxed state, reducing overwhelm and intrusive thoughts. The affirmations get you into the habit of speaking more positively to yourself.
And there’s also a third bonus element that isn’t talked about enough: acceptance. That comes from acknowledging your current thoughts and feelings so that you can move towards a better place for yourself. After all, it’s difficult to work through problems if you constantly try to push them away.
Combined, the three of these - tapping, affirmation and acknowledgement - can have a surprisingly striking effect. Wowza.

Will EFT Help Me?
If your emotions run away with you, if negative thoughts sometimes crowd out all reason, or if nerves are getting the better of you, then Emotional Freedom Technique can help.
Like all therapies, EFT can have different effects on different people, and it’s not a happy magic cure-all pill. BUT - and I say this with absolute sincerity - it won’t do you any harm and it can have really astounding benefits. I’ve experienced it through my clients, and I’ve experienced it personally.
If you’re suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD or anything else that’s tying your mind up in knots, then EFT is a really handy tool. It’s a few moments that you can take for yourself to refocus and recalibrate your head.

EFT is just so darn good that I use it with most of my clients one way or another, often as part of broader therapy or coaching. We’ll incorporate it into our sessions where it makes sense, and I’ll teach you techniques that you can take away and use in the big wide world.
